NHL = Names High in Letters

While my colleague will be focusing on the NCAA Tournament I will take the easier road and focus on a Crazy name from the NHL from now until the season is over. Now I must admit that I do not actually watch much hockey not because I don't like it, but because I like basketball more, but unfortunately the NBA is not the gold-mine for crazy names that the NHL is, so the NHL it is. Because there are soooooo many names in the NHL we are going to take a systematic approach to this and simply work our way through alphabetically, and wherever we leave off at the end of the season we will pick up when the NHL Season starts in 2009.

Congratulations to Justin Abdelkader in being the fist hockey name featured on CSN blog.

Player Profile:
Name: Justin Abdelkader (abdehl-KAY-duhr)
Justin was the 42nd overall pick in the 2005 NHL Draft, he lead the Michigan State Spartans to the 2007 NCAA Championship, a game in which he scored the game winning goal with 18.9 seconds remaining. And he was named the 2007 Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player. Perhaps the best piece of information about Justin is that he is from Muskegon MI (mus-KEY-gun) Yet another one of Michigan's stranger named Places.

at only 22 years old we are still waiting to see if Justin can make some magic in the NHL.

"Abracadabra" Justin
