Another Fecal Matter

Florida Gators

21
Justin Poovey
(Pooh-VEE)

Redshirt Freshman

Pitcher

6'0"/195lbs

Bats: Right/Throws: Right

Poovey is from Great Falls, NC. He missed all of last year's season with a medical redshirt. Although he was out last season he was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. How can this be? The kid did not play at all but still is named to an Honor roll. A medical redshirt means that you can gain elgibility for another year due to an injury. So this guy can actually be on the Academic Honor Roll for 5 years and play for 4?

On Wednesday, Pooh-vee pitched an inning of relief in the Gators in a win versus Stetson University. In that inning he walked two and struck out none with no earned runs. This season he has appeared in 7 games but have given up 12 earned runs. His ERA is 5.89 and he has 9 K's. Poovey is the workhorse for the Florida bullpen but the work doesn't look that good with his ERA and earned runs.

Poovey's name gets him a mention on the CSN Blog but his work this season is a bunch of bull.
